CUE 1001 Introduction to Cultural Industries &Â
Creative Economy
The purpose of this project was to begin the creation of an interactive visualization of Duluth’s Creative Economy which conveys information about the nature of and value added by creative enterprises from the Duluth area. Students used crowd-sourcing to generate a list of about 50 enterprises and gathered information through primary and secondary research. In collaboration with the Geospatial Analysis Center and using the GIS technology students transformed the information into a storymap. The project was supported by City of Duluth’s Public Arts Commission. Click here to see the storymap.
