Outcome

  • Articulate a complex problem or intellectual question using an interdisciplinary perspective.

Assessment Mechanism

  • Produce a project (academic paper, business proposal, digital storytelling project, podcast, etc.) that engages a complex problem from an interdisciplinary perspective.

Outcome

  • Demonstrate advanced skills (written, spoken, and in new media) at levels required for effective performance as a communicator in professional and other social or cultural contexts.

Assessment Mechanism

  • Communicate effectively in two media or genres (e.g. oral presentation, academic paper, social media or website), to more than one audience (e.g. academic, professional, public).

  • Demonstrate advanced skills at levels required for effective  performance as a leader or effective collaborator in professional and other social or cultural context.

Assessment mechanism

  • Produce a Plan B project integrated with the scholarly and professional and public communities, and so demonstrates effective collaboration within those communities.

  • (b) Articulate a complex problem or intellectual question in light of global issues.

Assessment Mechanism

  • Student projects exhibit an understanding of an issue with attention to community issues (race, class, gender, religion, etc.)
  • Student projects exhibit an understanding of the global issue on its own terms (that is, their understanding is not overdetermined by ethnocentric or nationalistic biases).
