CERE Summit: Creating Change

FLL faculty participate in Creating Change summit.

On February 22, the UMD Commission on Equity, Race and Ethnicity (CERE) hosted its annual summit, Creating Change: The 2017 Summit on Equity, Diversity, Multiculturalism and Student Leadership. Two members of the FLL faculty presented sessions as part of the all-day conference. French Studies professor Milan Kovacovic presented "Images of Human Diversity in French-Speaking Cinema" and Hispanic Studies professor Carol Wallace presented "You Don't Look Hispanic: Intersections of Race & Ethnicity in Latino Communities". The keynote speaker for this event was Debbie Irving, author of the book Waking Up White: and Finding Myself in the Story of Race. The 2018 Summit will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2018.
