Alum Publishes “Between Us” in Peauxdunque Review

Sarah Lawler, an alum of English and Writing Studies, has received an honorable mention in the 2022 Words and Music Competition by Peauxdunque Review.

Her essay, “Between Us,” appears in the journal’s double issue, seven and eight, available at peauxdunquereview.com/shop/peauxdunque-review-issue-78

Lawler is a PhD student of English at Indiana University in rhetoric and an associate instructor for speech and composition. She has also taught English language arts in middle and secondary school settings. As a scholar, she is interested in environmental rhetoric, especially as it pertains to land equity and land-use ethics. In “Field Mice,” one of her recent publications in ISLE: Interdisciplinary Studies of Literature and Environment, she explores the perniciousness of modern agribusiness as extensions of colonialism and capitalism.
