As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
An artist.

What major[s]/minor[s] did you graduate with?
B.F.A. in Graphic Design

Where do you live these days?
Milwaukee, WI

Where do you work? What kind of work do you do?
Kohl's Photo Studio. I work as a digital designer & illustrator on Kohl's social media team.

How are you involved with the arts in your current community?
We just moved here, so not yet!

What was your favorite class or project in college?
Creating my own typeface in David Short's class! His class grew my love for hand-lettering and typography.

How did SFA professors influence you?
They truly set me up to push past the "sea of sameness" and think differently.

What advice would you give to a incoming Art & Design student?
Get a design (paid) internship ASAP. Real life experience is the best thing to launch you into your career. & start learning now what you're worth! Your time & talent is worth something.

What was your favorite local Duluth hangout in college?
Anywhere by the water!

What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you since graduating from UMD SFA?
Well, since graduating I have moved states, gotten married, and got my first full time corporate job. It's been a huge growing season for me.

What was your biggest takeaway from UMD SFA?
You will get out of college exactly what you are willing to put in.

How did you make the decision to attend UMD for school?
My older sister went to UMD & after plenty of visits, I fell in love with the lake & the beautiful city on the hill.
