Dedicated in October 2002, the 350-seat Weber Music Hall was designed by visionary architect César Pelli, whose notable works include the Norwest Tower in Minneapolis and the Petronas Towers in Malaysia (once the world’s tallest buildings). Upon completion, the Weber was hailed for its striking profile and unmatched acoustics.
On Saturday, February 4, at 7:30 pm, a faculty recital will feature clarinetist and UMD Professor of Music Theodore Schoen. A veteran of the Music Department, Schoen was on faculty when the Weber Music Hall opened. Additionally, Schoen has performed, toured, and recorded with the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra and has been a frequent performer with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, playing on several of their recordings.
