Cultural Entrepreneurship Fair 2016

Cultural Entrepreneurship students share projects at CUE Fair.

Cultural Entrepreneurship is a program offered in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at UMD that is designed for Liberal Arts students to develop entrepreneurship and creative skills within a context of language and cultural competency. On November 30, CUE students had the opportunity to share their entrepreneurial ideas with the community at the CUE Fair 2016. Some projects aim to improve the lives of students, such as a student-run taxi service, an events app, an international food truck or a project to help transgender students find clothing that fits. Other projects reach out to the larger community, dealing with issues such as mining and the environment or human trafficking. The event gave students the opportunity to present their ideas and receive feedback from local leaders and community members as well as UMD faculty and students.
