As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
An Artist

What major[s]/minor[s] did you graduate with?
B.F.A in Graphic Design and minor in Studio Art

Where do you live these days?
Duluth, Minnesota

Where do you work? What kind of work do you do?
I'm currently a Graphic Designer at Hailey Sault and work on a variety of projects that range from designing print ads to package designs.

How are you involved with the arts in your current community?
I freelance and collaborate with other local artists and attend local artist gallery exhibitions and events around Duluth.

What was your favorite class or project in college?
One of my favorite projects was an experimental typography project in Steve Bardolph's class where we explored hand lettering with different materials.

How did SFA professors influence you?
The SFA professors challenged me to push out of my boundaries to experiment and try new techniques and style with my artwork.

What advice would you give to a incoming art & design student?
To the future Art & Design students, Do not be afraid to be adventurous and try something new. Get involved in different school events and clubs because you'll never know who you'll connect with.

What was your favorite local Duluth hangout in college?
Bonfires at Bagley Nature Center.

What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you since graduating from UMD SFA?
Having the opportunity to work and collaborate with really great people fun and challenging projects that hopefully help or inspire others.

What was your biggest takeaway from UMD SFA?
The connections I made with staff, students, and coworkers while I was there.

How did you make the decision to attend UMD for school?
I knew I wanted to go to Duluth for awhile but that decision was really solidified after meeting with Stacy Crawford and getting a tour with her. She was the one who helped me get started on a path that was right for me.
