Communication with a Marketing minor.
Where was your internship placement?
Zeitgeist, a nonprofit community development organization committed to growing and sustaining a place where every individual can thrive. Zeitgeist is a multi-faceted organization, consisting of the Arts Cafe, Zinema, and Theatre.
What did your general duties involve?
My roles at Zeitgeist include creating and scheduling content to post on our social media sites, develop, write, and distribute written public relations material, and help plan various Zeitgeist community events and initiatives!
What was your most memorable experience?
One of my most memorable experiences at Zeitgeist is working collaboratively on a team beside other interns and our directors. We all have different roles and responsibilities, but at the end of the day we all have the same end goal. We work hard, and have fun while doing it. :)
Has your internship influenced your career path?
I've learned a lot about social media and marketing that I will be able to take with me in my career. I've also never been able to work for/at a nonprofit organization, so Zeitgeist has really opened my eyes to possibly pursuing a career within a nonprofit. The overall energy and attitude of everyone at Zeitgeist is the type of work environment I hope to have at my future job. I genuinely like going to my internship every day and I hope to find a job that I'm just as excited about day in and day out. Zeitgeist has taught me that work doesn't always have to be "work", but it can be enjoyable too.
