What’s your major?
CUE and Hispanic Studies

Where are you studying?
Seville, Spain

How long will you be abroad?
2017-2018 Academic Year

What type of courses are you taking?
My courses are Spanish electives like literature, gastronomy, wines, ext.

What is your favorite memory from your study abroad experience?
So far I have a really great memory of a trip I took to Morocco. During that trip I hung out with some local kids and played marbles and let them play with my camera.

What would you say to someone considering studying abroad?
My main advice is to really do your research on what company/university you want to study abroad through and where you want to go. Although it is a pain in the butt it is worth it to put in the work.

What is/was your favorite local landmark?
My favorite local landmark is probably the Cathedral of Seville.

What are your living accommodations?
I am living with a host family. Which I would advise because it helps with practicing Spanish and meeting more locals.

What is your greatest challenge while being abroad?
Greatest challenge is not being rich and being able to buy tons of food and travel all the time.

What skills have you acquired abroad?
Being abroad I have gained a lot more independence and confidence. Also a global perspective on how the world is outside of the US.

Has study abroad influenced your academic/career path?
Yes, I was initially just going to minor in Spanish but was persuaded to major in it also.

What were questions you were asked by local residents?
Get ready to talk a lot about Trump. Their news here talks about US politics almost as much as it talks about their own politics.

Having a lot of free time here I started a blog and started making posts about my trips but also some lists of advice for example how to pack, and other advice. Here is a link: https://thusfarofficial.
