ANTH 4633: Ethnobotany

ANTH 4633 Ethnobotany: Duluth Community Plant Story Map

Ethnobotany is the study of the interrelationships between plants and people. Story mapping is an application from the GIS approach where you can take a map of anything and tie information to it to tell a story. Students in ANTH 4633: Ethnobotany worked to answer the following questions: What plants to people pay attention to? What plants have a traditional use as food or medicine? Students integrated their research into a Story Map that will serve as a community resource, and be added to by future ethnobotany students and local residents.
