Dr. Das joined UMD in Fall 2005 after teaching for a year at Wayne State University, Michigan. She has a PhD (2004) in Political Science from Northern Arizona University. Her research
intersects critical International Relations, United States, and South Asian security. She is the author of Revisiting Nuclear India: Strategic Culture and (In)Security Imaginary (New Delhi:
Sage Publications, 2015) and has published numerous articles in Social Identities; Journal of Asian and African Studies; International Studies Review; Asian Journal of Political Science;
International Politics; Contemporary Politics; European Journal of Women’s Studies; Minerva Journal of Women and War; Asian Perspectives; Journal of Commonwealth and Comparative
Politics; Women’s Studies International Forum; International Feminist Journal of Politics; Journal of Muslim Minority Affairs; Identity, Culture, and Politics, Third World Quarterly; and
Comparative Studies of Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. She is currently working on three single-authored book manuscripts (under contract) on India-United States security relations;
India-Pakistan relations; and postcolonialism in International Relations. She is the recipient of the 2015 Award for Excellence in Teaching from the College of Liberal Arts, UMD, and the 2016
Award for Excellence in Research from the College of Liberal Arts, UMD.
