In this talk, Dr. Katre will discuss her research related to Design-led intervention to promote cultural entrepreneurship for poverty alleviation among rural communities in India. She will discuss a case from the state of Bihar in India. The talk is open for all and will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 5pm in Humanities 480.

What is your major?

My major is sociology and a minor in cultural studies.

Where was your internship placement? (What is the purpose of the organization?)

I interned in the Department of Human Resources on UMD's campus.

What did your general duties involve?

My general duties involved: emailing, answering phones, working on projects, analyzing data, typing documents, filing, and other various tasks.

What was your most memorable experience?

Most memorable experience was working on the events for National Student Employment Week where I worked on the project from its start to finish. There was so much work involved, but it was so fun to interact with everyone on the project and see the end result.

Has your internship influenced your career path?

My internship has definitely influenced my career path and I am very interested now in working in Human Resources. I think the work would be very rewarding and I really enjoy aspects of HR.
