Before joining the Department of American Indian studies in 2011, Tami held appointments with the Natural Resources Research Institute, U of M Extension Service, UMD Graduate Office, and UMD Department of Studies in Justice, Culture, & Social Change.

Tami oversees the daily operations of support services for the Department of American Indian Studies such as budget and finance, human resources, procurement, facilities management, communications, compliance, outreach, events/conferences, student affairs, and faculty affairs.

Tami received the UMD Outstanding Service Award in 2012-2013 and the CLA Outstanding Staff Award in Spring 2020. 

Born and raised in Duluth, Tami enjoys spending time outdoors mountain biking, Nordic skiing, hiking, kayaking, fishing, and gardening.
