Tami began her carer at UMD in 1987. Before joining the Department of American Indian studies in 2011, she held appointments with the Natural Resources Research Institute, U of M Extension Service, UMD Graduate Office, and UMD Anthropology, Sociology & Criminology.
Tami oversees the daily operations of support services for the Department of American Indian Studies. She interacts with tribal leaders/tribal administrators and constituents by facilitation and participation in tribal consultation sessions for proposed degrees, the Professional Certificate in Tribal Administration and Governance, the Tribal Sovereignty Institute, and the Board of Regents’ American Indian Policy.
Tami received the UMD Outstanding Service Award in 2012-2013 and the CLA Outstanding Staff Award in Spring 2020.
Born and raised in Duluth Tami loves spending time outdoors biking, skiing, hiking, kayaking, and running.
