Rebecca Katz Harwood’s eclectic career has included work as a performer, choreographer, teacher, researcher, and arts administrator. She received her undergraduate degree in Religious Studies and Anthropology from Macalester College, and her MFA in Dance from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Her work has taken her around the Midwest, to both coasts of the US, and to Germany, England, France, Hungary, and Bulgaria. Since 2006, she has been based back in her native Duluth, on the faculty here at UMD Theatre, where she teaches classes in modern, jazz, and musical theatre dance technique, dance composition, and dance and musical theatre history. She also choreographs and directs both concert works and musical theatre for the university, as well as locally and nationally.
