Apply online for the Fall 2017 Cohort!  Each cohort capacity is limited to 20 students.  The program is open until filled, with an August 15th deadline.  Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply early to meet scholarship deadlines.

Admission Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree - Anyone who has or will obtain a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in the U.S. or a comparable degree from an officially recognized college or university outside the U.S. may apply for admission.
  • GPA - Preferred minimum undergraduate Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or higher for admission.
  • Letters of Recommendation - Two letters of recommendation from current or former professors who can assess your potential for graduate work. Other recommenders, such as employers, are also acceptable.
  • Personal Statement - The personal statement should include what you hope to get out of the MTAG program and accomplish in tribal administration and governance. 

MTAG students are required to have a PC or MAC (computer running MAC OS or Windows)*. Students are welcome to purchase equipment anywhere as long as it meets the technology requirements*.  UMD Computer Corner offers Mac and Windows laptops and accessories with excellent features and prices often below retail. Required technology purchased at the Computer Corner is sales-tax free. 
*Chromebook not compatible with remote technology.

Degree Requirements
Each cohort will complete the same sequence of courses totaling 38 credits.
