To commemorate International Holocaust Remembrance Day UMD's Baeumler Kaplan Holocaust Commemoration Committee is proud to present a talk by Leonore Baeumler. Mrs. Baeumler will share "My Memories of Fascism: A Childhood in Hitler's Germany". Mrs. Baeumler was born in Nuremberg, Germany and started school in 1935. She will share stories from her childhood which illustrate how the Nazis went about taking on power. As she notes, it took only six years from the time he became chancellor before Hitler had enough military power to implement his most ambitious plan--to conquer central Europe, and possibly the world.
Mrs. Baeumler's talk will take place on Monday, January 29 at 7 p.m. in Bohannon 90 on the UMD campus. This event is free and open to the public.
