Center for Social Research

The Center For Social Research demonstrates the value of social analysis in ALL types of disciplinary and interdisciplinary research at UMD.  Social analysis involves the examination of social structure/infrastructure and agency in any problem domain; actionable insight is an outcome of social analysis.  The Center develops creative, community-engaged research opportunities for social analysis among our faculty and students and offers space and coordination for social research problem-solving for justice in the 21st century.

Stay tuned as the Center builds out our new website to showcase our 2018-9 initiatives which include:

  • Take Action Research Lab (includes: Visualizing Social Research Workshop; New Commons Studio Course)
  • Community Energy Initiative (includes: Duluth Power Dialog Event, Local Energy Democracy Podcast Series)

Please contact Director Kathryn Milun at 218-726-7071 or kmilun@d.umn.edu if you are interested in getting involved in any of the activities associated with the Center For Social Research
