Bio

BA, College of Saint Benedict/Saint John's University

MA, University of Montana

Originally from Hibbing, MN, I began my teaching career at UMD fall semester of 2000.  I studied both Communication and History as a undergraduate at the College of Saint Benedict and continued my study of Communication as a graduate student at the University of Montana where I fell in love with the study of Conflict Management under the direction of Dr. Bill Wilmot.  Over the years I have taught Public Speaking, Interpersonal and Conflict Management here at UMD.  Fitness has also been a large part of my life and much of my graduate work focused on the study of the group fitness culture.  Fortunately, I am able to combine my two loves (communication and fitness) here at UMD and have duties with RSOP as the Fitness and Wellness Coordinator.  I am married to a UMD alum (Finance) who was a member of the men's hockey team long before we ever met.  Together we have two lovable and hilarious sons.  I enjoy exercise, tennis, hikes, Bulldog athletics and visiting my favorite place on earth, Missoula, Montana.
