Caitlin Anderson
Internship: Intern at Lundeen Productions

What is your major?

Communication with a minor in Journalism

Where was your internship placement? (What is the purpose of the organization?)

For over four decades Lundeen Productions has provided quality entertainment events for the public and excellent sales and marketing opportunities for businesses! Lundeen Productions and ShowPro have been the driving forces behind hundreds of events and venues in the Northland, and the economic impact on the regional economy from these events has been in the hundreds of millions of dollars over that time. In addition to creating and maintaining top quality enterprise, the Lundeen Productions’ team has worked tirelessly on charitable projects that have raised tens of thousands of dollars for charities and non-profits throughout the region.

What did your general duties involve?

Bringing fresh ideas into the world of marketing and networking while publishing various stories and revitalizing their social media outlets. Every day was a little different and I appreciated the variety it gave me. It kept me on my toes and gave me an idea of what I want in a career.

What was your most memorable experience?

The entire journey has been memorable but building my confidence has been unforgettable. The moment I opened the 2014 Duluth Women’s Expo Publication and realized that I wrote 95% of the stories inside, I felt like I was that much closer to facing the “real world” with an optimistic outlook.

Has your internship influenced your career path?

This internship has opened my eyes to how much perseverance is needed in the world of entertainment and event planning. My boss, Tracy Lundeen has been doing this his entire life but remains hands-on and humble throughout it all. He is someone I will always look up to and remember as I move on down my career path.
