UMD opens its doors to the 2nd and 3rd grade classes of Lowell Elementary for a multicultural and creative morning on October 31st from 11 am - 1 pm. The UMD Art and Design department is looking forward to hosting a creative arts experience that also celebrates diversity and inclusion. This academic collaboration will allow each child the opportunity to learn about Ojibwe and Hispanic culture in a fresh and exciting way.
Children get the chance to learn about Dia de Los Muertos ofrenda and create folk art in our newly redesigned Multi-Cultural Center. They will also be able to take in the marvelous exhibit of Ojibwe bandolier bags in our esteemed Tweed Museum of Art. The students will be creating their very own bandolier bag and take part in a wide variety of activities while learning about Ojibwe culture and art. This special day will be led and taught by our outstanding art and design students as they teach creativity and culture in an electrifying way!
