Martha Davis: Alumni
The summer after her Junior year Martha served as a Congressional Intern for a Minnesota Representative in his district office. At her internship, she helped staff with constituent casework. Throughout her Senior year, she spent hours volunteering for her boss's congressional campaign, as well as working with other campaigns in the state of Minnesota.
“I chose to attend UMD because the campus was the perfect size. My class sizes were small enough that I was able to have one on one time and attention with my professors, but the campus was large enough that there were always plenty of activities going on, and so many organizations to join. UMD also has a great network of alumni. Because of UMD and the organizations I joined, I was able to network with people in my career field and land my dream job.” - Martha Davis
Martha is currently living in Washington, D.C. and working for the U.S. House of Representatives. Her job entails assisting congressmen and other staff with writing and researching education policy, helping with conducting hearings and markups, and attending briefings on important issues.
